Promotes accessible communication so that persons who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing may fully participate in programs, services and opportunities throughout the Commonwealth.
Since 1972, VDDHH has promoted accessible communication so that persons who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing may fully participate in programs, services, and opportunities throughout the Commonwealth.
· Our interpreter services program provides interpreting and CART services for courts and government agencies and also maintain a database of qualified interpreters in Virginia.
· The Technology Assistance Program gives telecommunication equipment to qualified applicants whose disabilities prevent them from using a standard telephone.
· Community services program offer training experiences to dead and hard of hearing communities as well as families, caregivers and businesses. Provides information and referral.
· Virginia Relay, a federally-mandated telecommunications relay service for persons who are deaf, hard of hearing, Deafblind or speech disabled so they that communicate with standard telephone users.
