Q: What is the Deaf in Government (DIG) Conference & Expo?
A: The conference’s goal is to provide available resources, services, and demonstration of current technologies of cloud, Information Technology (IT) operation, content management, accessibility, career advancement, networking, and job opportunities. The overarching goal is to build a bridge between communities by collaborating with companies to benefit the Deaf and Hard of Hearing employees at all levels of government.
Q: Who can participate in the Deaf in Government Conference & Expo?
A: Anyone! We encourage current government employees and aspiring government employees to join us virtually. Other attendees may include those who work with Deaf and Hard of Hearing employees, such as Human Resource Managers, Equal Employment Opportunity Specialists, Agency Representatives, Directors/Supervisors, and hearing colleagues. Our target audience ranges from early career professionals to seasoned professionals in all government agencies and sectors.
Q: When is Deaf in Government Conference & Expo?
A: Thursday, June 3, 2021, from 8:00 am EST to 5:00 pm EST. We will start as early as 6:00 am for a looping PowerPoint slide displaying sponsors’ logos and promotional videos. The event is 100% virtual, and all presentations and workshops will be available through the RivetLogic platform on the day of the event and for up to two weeks for later viewing.

Q: Do I need to be a member of Deaf in Government to attend the DIG Expo?
A: There are no requirements to become a paid member to attend this conference. This event is open to the public and will benefit current federal employees and aspiring federal employees. However, being a paid member has its perks! One of the perks that a paid member will get is raffle tickets with a chance to win a prize and lifelong benefits.

Q: How do I become an exhibitor or sponsor the DIG Conference?

Q: What time zone will the sessions be presented in?
A: All virtual events will be presented in Eastern Standard Time.
Q: What platform should I use to attend the Virtual Expo?
A: You can either use Mac or PC to access the RivetLogic platform. The link will be provided to those who register for the event, so make sure you register for the Expo.
Q: Can I use mobile phone or tablets/ipad?
A. For best viewing experience, use a Mac or PC.
Q: What browser is recommended to use for this virtual event?
A: It is recommended you use any browsers except Internet Explorer.
Q: Whom do I (attendee) contact with technical issues or support during the virtual event?
A: A technology packet will be provided to the attendees when it gets closer to the event date. We want to make sure this is as authentic of an experience as possible. To assist attendees with using the RivetLogic platform and “how-to” user guide manual will ensure that it is conducive to the visual learning environment. Q: Whom do I (presenter) contact with technical issues or support questions?
A: All presenters are strongly encouraged to pre-record themselves at home independently, but we will offer limited slots available for in-person recording. We will also consult and provide guidance with filming expectations. Please contact us at DIGexpo@deafingov.org if you have any issues.
Q: Are the presentations ASL and voice Interpreted and captioned?
A: All the prerecorded presentations will be ASL/Voice Interpreted as well as captioned. For other presentations that will be live may not be.
Q: How do I network at this virtual event?
A: We will offer engagement in real-time messaging during presentations. In addition to demonstrating your full engagement in the virtual environment, you will have an opportunity to chat with live representatives from each company/organization. Just because we can’t shake hands doesn’t mean you can’t network!
Q: How do I log in on the day of the event to view the conference?
A: You will receive a link upon registration to use the day of the conference.
Q: What can I do in a virtual event platform?
A: You can get to watch many various presentations and workshops throughout the day and for up to two weeks after June 3, 2021. During the day of the event on June 3rd, you can also interact with exhibitors during or in between sessions utilizing the AWS chime, and you will be able to ask questions/network with exhibitors face to face. Real-time messaging with exhibitors will be provided as well.
Q: Do I need a webcam to experience DIG Conference & Expo?
A: You are not required to have access to a webcam to experience the DIG Conference & Expo and interact with the exhibitors. However, if you have access to the webcam, we strongly recommend asking any questions to the exhibitors live. Furthermore, you will have a chance to meet many exhibitors, and you can get to interact with them face-to-face but virtual, live!
Q: Can I get a justification letter so I can attend the conference during my work time?
