Serving Hard of Hearing and Late-Deafened Adults in Government: Tips and Experiences

Abstract: This presentation will offer strategies on serving government employees who are dealing with hearing loss later in life.

Summary: Many ADA coordinators and disability program specialists do not know how to provide appropriate assistance to employees in their agency who are dealing with acquired hearing loss later in life. The presenter will share tips and her experiences in reaching out to this growing segment of the deaf and hard of hearing community.

This presentation will fit with the Power of You theme by showcasing how one person can make a positive impact to encourage and maintain a positive working environment for government employees who are losing their hearing.
