D-PAN, The Deaf Professional Arts Network, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Ferndale, MI. D-PAN co-founder Sean Forbes had a vision, while a student at RIT/NTID, of making music more accessible with videos featuring talented deaf performers. The first several years were focused on creating ASL Music Videos of popular songs, notably John Mayer, Christina Aguilera, and Eminem. In 2016, upon realizing that access to information was not widely accessible in ASL, D-PAN founded DPAN.TV The Sign Language Channel, a platform with an emphasis on accessible content. This began the journey of making the 2016 Presidential debates accessible in ASL, along with The Super Bowl Halftime show, and more. In 2019 after many years of producing content in house, D-PAN formed ASL Captions, a captioning service with a focus on American Sign Language video content. D-PAN has one goal, to be the one-stop-shop for access.

As a Deaf, women-owned and operated company, Civic Access is a social enterprise that leverages its economic power to invest in local Deaf Community efforts and programming. As a social enterprise, we at Civic Access aim not only to go above and beyond in meeting the communication access needs of the Deaf, Hard-of-Hearing, Deaf-Blind, and late-deafened communities, but also to utilize more than 10% of its revenue in re-investing into education, advocacy, and pro bono interpreting and CART services. We provide communication access to Deaf Executives in various parts of the country, and we offer both onsite and VRI work. Civic Access takes both pleasure and pride in our team of dedicated and passionate professionals. Our team takes time to learn about who our consumers are and how we can most effectively meet their needs. We strive to disrupt the traditional agency model, offering best fit interpreters, letting deaf executives take ownership in customizing their own language access experience, and keeping a tight knit, like-minded group of service providers who value the community and access as much as we do.
